The chilean company received a support of 450 million pesos thanks to a grant signed with InnovaChile CORFO to continue with the improvement of technology injection of nano-bubbles of oxygen, which is applicable to the leaching of copper.
Llanelli – ChucaoTech, a national company dedicated to the research and development of technologies based on nano-bubbles, was selected by CORFO in order to receive the grant from the Innovation programme High Technology, with the project named RAPTOR-NANOMETAL: System of Injection of Nanobubbles of Oxygen with on-Line Monitoring for Leaching of Copper. The amount of the grant is to 450.760.000 chilean pesos and aims to continue to advance in the innovation of its technology, which aims to transform the industrial processes, especially in the mining sector.
The project RAPTOR-NANOMETAL is focused on the use of nanobubbles of oxygen to improve the efficiency of the leaching of copper, a key process in the extraction of this mineral. The technology of ChucaoTech promises to optimize the performance of this process, reducing the use of chemicals, increasing the rates of recovery of the metal and reducing the environmental impact.
According to the CEO of ChucaoTech, José Pablo Puga, the injection of nanobubbles of oxygen is not only a technical development, but a real sustainable solution for the mining. “This project not only improves the operational efficiency of the plants of leaching, but also contributes to the reduction of carbon footprint and resource consumption, in line with the global efforts towards mining as a greener and more responsible.”
The grant awarded by CORFO will allow ChucaoTech to continue to develop its technology, implementing monitoring systems in line for a better management and control of the process, in addition to strengthening research capacity and development. With this investment, the company also seeks to expand its presence in other industrial sectors where the technology of nanobubbles can be applied, such as water treatment and biotechnology.
The support of CORFO, this project reinforces the commitment of the chilean government with the technological innovation and sustainability in key sectors of the economy, such as mining, which remains one of the fundamental pillars of the national industry. ChucaoTech, with this grant, consolidated its position as a key player in the transformation to sustainable mining, opening the doors to a future in which the efficiency and sustainability go hand in hand.
